Opening with movie night in the garage

Antarctica, January 19, 2023

Before the new garage would fulfil its real purpose, it became a cinema for one evening. We printed cinema tickets and invited the Finnish research station to the film BBC Dynasties, which is about the life of the emperor penguin over a year. It was recorded in Atkabay, about a mile from the German station Neumeyer. A well-made and emotional documentary.

Today, the work continues with preparations before departure on Wednesday, January 25.

This year's Antarctic expedition focuses on construction, maintenance and preparations for future research expeditions. Among other things, the five expedition participants will work on completing a garage.
